One steam-oven tray + hob for the veg · ~50 min (mostly passive) · serves 5 adults The hearty chicken option — swap it in for the creamy noodles so chicken still lands once a week. No onion/garlic; lemon, leek and herbs carry it. Cooked unsalted so the kids and baby eat from it first; salt the adults’ share at the end.

Ingredients

Method — by station

Everything roasts on one tray in the steam oven; the plain veg steam on the hob alongside. No salt until the end, so the baby’s share comes off unseasoned.

🔥 In the steam oven — one tray (~40 min)

Steam oven — no preheat needed; set it going from cold.

  1. Toss the potatoes, leek, drumsticks, oil, lemon juice, herbs and paprika together on a solid steam-oven tray. Spread in one layer, drumsticks skin-up. No salt yet.
  2. Setting: Combigaren + Heißluft, 200 °C, 10 % humidity, fan on. Roast ~40 min, turning the drumsticks and shaking the potatoes once at ~25 min, until the skin is golden and the meat reaches 75 °C / juices run clear. For even crisper skin, go to 210–220 °C for the last 10 min.

🍳 On the hob — covered pan (~10 min, near the end)

  1. Medium heat. Steam the broccoli and carrots in a covered pan with a finger of water (or a steamer basket), ~8–10 min, until just tender. Drain.

🍱 To assemble

  1. Lift out the 1-year-old’s drumstick and potatoes first — strip the meat off the bone and check carefully for any small bones and cartilage, and shred — and leave it unsalted. Take the kids’ share out now too, still unsalted.
  2. Now salt and pepper the rest to taste. A container each: drumsticks + potatoes + steamed veg, lemon wedge on the side. Don’t forget your work portion. Cool, then fridge.
